這首歌讓她感動，可是她沒把這感動當回事。她很清楚，這首歌只是個美麗的謊言。媚俗一旦被當作謊言，媚俗置身的情境就是非媚俗了，它會失去一切極權的力量，變得跟所有人類的弱點一樣動人。因為我們當中沒有人是超人，所以沒有人可以完全逃脫媚俗。

在一個社會裡，如果諸多思潮並存，而且影響力互相抵銷，限制，那麼我們還多少有可能逃脫媚俗的專橫，還有可能保有個人的獨創性，藝術家也可以創作出讓人意想不到的作品。但只要政治運動掌握了一切權力，我們就會置身在極權的媚俗王國裡，所有個人主義的展現，所有懷疑主義，所有嘲諷，都會被驅逐出境。
